Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by six wickets in the second Test of the two-match series at Rawalpindi . This is a historic series win for Bangladesh against Pakistan, to win an away Test series for the third time in their history. This is only the second time Bangladesh has won a Test series of two or more matches abroad.

Their last overseas series (two or more matches) victory was in 2009 in the West Indies, where they beat the Men in Maroons 2-0. In 2021, they won a one-off Test against Zimbabwe in Harare. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim are the only players from this Bangladesh team who also played in the winning team in the West Indies.

Pakistan’s winning streak at home stretched to 10 matches. It was the first time they had lost a Test series against Bangladesh. Bangladesh started the fifth day of the match at 42/0 and needed 143 more to win with all wickets intact and it was a historic series win for Bangladesh over pakistan.

Pakistan’s pacers were disciplined by picking up two quick wickets in the openers. But Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haq added 57 runs for the third wicket before Salman Ali Agha removed the former. With 58 runs left to win, Rahim joined Mominul at mid-on and after surviving some tense moments, Mominul took a 32-run lead to win.
